Rally Nevada Union Members in Support of Working Family Candidates Saturday
LAS VEGAS, NV – On Saturday, October 1st, dozens of union members will gather for a labor breakfast and rally with national labor leaders and endorsed candidates in key Nevada races. American Federation of Teachers (AFT) National President Randi Weingarten and AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Liz Shuler will emphasize the importance of Nevada unions in winning the state for pro-worker candidates like Hillary Clinton, Catherine Cortez Masto, Ruben Kihuen, Jacky Rosen and other down ballot races in the 2016 election. 1 in 6 voters in Nevada lives in a union household.
Labor unions in Nevada have been running door-to-door programs across the state since May and are ramping up efforts to reach voters with less than a month until early vote starts. The AFL-CIO’s Labor 2016 election effort, which AFT is apart of, aims to reach over 200,000 union households in Nevada.
