Have Mexico fight cartels by heroin: DEA

The DEA said that even with the arrest of Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzmán Mexican cartels still compete for the market of heroin in Mexico.

The poster of the Pacific, led by the son of Joaquin "Chapo" Guzman, the Cartel's Jalisco new generation fighting for the Kingdom of the heroin in the United States, a territory formerly dominated by Colombian gangs that have gone to Mexican hands, said a spokesman for the DEA.

The Pacific cartel remains a "major threat" to the United States, because of heroin trafficking has increased despite the capture of "El Chapo", and the possibility to be extradited to U.S. territory, as he pointed out one of the spokesmen of the American drug enforcement agency (DEA), Russell K. Baer.

"'El Chapo' may be in custody and may have been taken out of its leadership, but their children are very involved in the criminal activity of the cartel," said Baer.
