To Kick Off Hispanic Heritage Month with 'Nuestro Nevada' Event in Las Vegas
'Nuestro Nevada' launch will bring together Latino millennials for a mixer at Tacos & Beer
Las Vegas - Today, September 15, the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month, Hillary for Nevada will kick off “Nuestro Nevada” with a millennial mixer at Tacos & Beer in Las Vegas to engage young Latino millennials in organizing efforts to elect Hillary Clinton and Democrats up and down the ticket. Labor Activist and Leader Dolores Huerta and Nevada Assemblyman and Hispanic Legislative Caucus Vice Chair Nelson Araujo will participate and highlight the New College Compact, Clinton's college affordability plan that would allow 24,000 Nevada students to pay no tuition for a four-year college degree.
This week, Hillary for America released a new “college calculator” tool in English and Spanish allowing families and students to see how much they would save under Clinton's college affordability plan.
In contrast, Donald Trump, has failed to release any sort of plan to increase access to higher education, and has run a campaign focused instead on dividing Americans with hate-filled rhetoric.
